Do you want to learn about clean energy and sustainability in engineering design? Join us for a tour of one of Portland’s leading engineering design firms, PAE. As the world's first developer-led building to meet the stringent Living Building Challenge, it serves as a blueprint for how we can build cities that heal the environment rather than deplete it. On this tour, you get to visit the PAE “Living Laboratory”, meet like-minded peers, explore careers in engineering design, and learn from professionals in engineering!

Youth Design Forum
The Studio Justice Youth Design Forum is ELSO’s annual gathering where Portland’s youth explore, imagine, and shape the future of their city through design. On May 16, 2026, students will come together for a powerful day of collaboration, creativity, and community-building.
This year’s forum, Our Space, Our Voice: Placemaking the Portland We Love, focuses on placemaking for Portland youth with a special emphasis on the future of the Albina Waterfront. Participants will explore how young people can design spaces that reflect their identities, histories, cultures, and dreams.
Through hands-on design challenges, storytelling, and teamwork, youth will envision what it means to create spaces where they feel safe, seen, celebrated, and empowered.
